absolutely, will usually slice the sidewall just above the bead

I've only done it myself on a carbon rim (which doesn't dent)

they just crack or explode instead

The kind of impact that would kill tubeless tire. That cushion strip will really help?

If someone on here did it, I'd probably like it. Since it was done by someone I don't know, they're a fucking idiot.

I'd expect the floating foam insert to really work, and keep you from needing as burly a casing or brutal a pressure to keep the tire stable

the Schwalbe Procore tubular-in-tubeless design apparently can detonate carbon rims on hits

I have seen some cuts in those Huck Norris inserts (now on Q), so I can see them working as advertised without much weight penalty. I was reading about the more solid foam inserts that seem to work as Fred mentioned, allowing you to drop pressure so as not to feel the sidewall give away completely. The latter I saw was Cush Core, but it does add a pretty significant weight penalty. Maybe it is balanced out by not having to run DD or DH casings on your Maxxis tires.

Hadn't heard of the procore before so I looked it up. What's the story on them detonating carbon rims? Is it just that when you bottom out that hard it blows the high pressure 'tube' which kills the bead hook?

The stem is being billed as a Garmin/GoPro mount. The sticker was more of a juxtaposition of the radishfist demographic that PNW is targeting.

Why is that considered innovative? For like ~4 years now, Trek has had the same thing with their Blendr system.

I'd have bought one a while ago instead of making a decaleur if they weren't expensive. Also I think they don't fit modern bar diameters.

JUGE FREDD: what is wrong with these? why should I not buy one to use as a spare in case my tubeless setup fails?

No skinny tire 700c until the spring of 2018. Now I'm stuck with a normal butyl spare tube that weighs like 120g like I'm some kind of complete asshole.

But yeah, let's hear why this tube is better than previous ultralite tubes.

I have the Tranz-x 27.2mm, 80mm derper. It's decent.
Pros: $100, 27.2, easy setup.
Cons: no setback, developed some play (no noticeable riding)

Five-foot drops at speed on unstable terrain? Yep.

Plus $12 for a custom patch kit.
At that price it seems like they should include a free patch kit with every tube sold because not sold in stores.

Would these be functionally similar to latex tubes?

I'd be interested to know if the chemistry of the Tubolito patch kit can be spoiled by a tube covered in oily sealant remnants.

Those tubes are available muuuch cheaper from asialand also I've heard not bad things about them. I don't think you can over stretch them as much though, like using a 23c tube in a 40pm tire might not really unfuck yourself

Bumpdate
So I “liked” the pnw components page on FB and, as circumstances will have it, their ranier dropper (AKA transx dropper) is on sale. I have commented now 3 times:

And they have deleted every one.

I thought about doing it again and tagging a bunch of you but ??? I don’t think I care THAT much but it would be nice if they ate their “we hate expensive bike parts” words
