Haven’t been on tarck in a while... anyone gonna be there this weekend?

Planning on Saturday day trip.

If someone on here did it, I'd probably like it. Since it was done by someone I don't know, they're a fucking idiot.

Trade shows are basically indestructable once established.

All music is just the Eagles with different geometry.

Same weekend different region: anyone else going to Frostbike? I know this is a stupid thread but it seems to make as much sense as any other thread.

Nice show, didn't see any Tarck not for lack of trying. Did see a bunch of people I wanted to catch up with. Didn't take a lot of pics, ended up rushing through later on to beat the weather and catch the ferry. Sorry about the watermark, forgot I checked it and I'm tired.

Well, duh, but that's cool on its own. NAH BS isn't cool for the same reason. Most anybody buying them aren't ripping single track all dirtbag style.

I fondled those Paul brak levers everyone hates on a klunker. They were immediately very apparently not ergonomic at all. I have no idea why they exist.

There shouldn't even be brake levers on a klunker -- coaster brake only atmo

fwiw the Panasonic drivetrain is non-functional. They have not figured out how to make a mountain dangler play with a road pusher, although the Shimano rep said the only way it was feasible was with a split Di2 system that runs two batteries.

Why would Panasonic fly halfway around the world to show a non-functional garbage bike to a bunch of half-interested bike nerds? What a waste of money.

It is an LED flashlight.

Guys you know how trade shows work right? Concept cars? That kind of stuff. It's just supposed to be pretty and show the direction that the exhibitor is heading in. Then they make a workable thing for production/sale.

We do know how trade shows work. Clearly, Panasonic doesn't, or they wouldn't have mounted that abomination of a light on there.
"It's just a trade show demo bike" would excuse a fancy-looking light that doesn't work or one that puts out a miserable little beam on the ceiling. Not that.

It was definitely weird to see that booth. They showed a couple bikes to a market with no timeline. The gentleman didn't even know if Panasonic has committed to entering US market. What was the point? If he said "oh within the next year or two" there would possibly be something to get excited about.

If someone on here did it, I'd probably like it. Since it was done by someone I don't know, they're a fucking idiot.

lol how do you know how the light works or if it works at all. I assume it works like any other LED torch that people use as a headlight. did you even read the posts here before replying?

It was the derailleurs that wouldn't work together without two separate batteries. The headlamp is clearly harkening back to an earlier era of rando bikes. What's the big deal?

Thu, 02/22/2018 - 10:31

Panasonic was just trying to capture the urban DUI demographic. Flip those bars up, zip tie a maglite on there, bingo bango you got yourself half the bikes ridden in a city.
