Surly Merino Wool Jersey

Talking about this one:

I've had this jersey for a couple years now (think I got it for Christmas 2014). I am about 5'11", broad shoulders, no neck, fat, and the XL stretches a little to make a tight fit but is otherwise pretty good. The neck is a little tight for me but still tolerable if it is cold enough to require zipping up.

I tend to run hotter than most people but I've found this to be really good between about 35F and 55F. You can stretch it out further with a vest, and it's also thin and tight enough on me that I can throw a flannel shirt over it if things are getting unexpectedly wet or cold.

Here's me wearing it during an abortive attempt at the 2015 Triple D:

At the end of that day it was covered in all this khaki muck that I thought would never come out, but it did. I'm not sure I've ever put it through a real wash cycle, but I have got it pretty wet a few times in the rain. From what I can tell it hasn't shrunk at all.

Has been pretty durable too. There's a little hole in one of the shoulders, maybe 1mm, it hasn't got any bigger in the last year. I crashed/fell off my bike while wearing it recently and got a small oozie-bruise under the jersey but no tears in the jersey itself.

One thing I'm not sure I'm into are the thumb hole sleeves. I wear gloves when I ride and don't wear it off the bike a whole lot. That said, the long sleeves are nice for getting full-arm coverage when stretched out on a bike.

Overall very happy with this jersey/sweater. It seems to fulfill all the promises of merino wool, being warm but not too warm, durable but soft, and frequently sweated in and rained on but still having more of a wool smell than a BO funk. (is it just me or does merino smell sort of like toothpaste?)

Does it smell any better / worse than Taylor Swift's butthole?

I have the same jersey and can also report that it works well.

IME this jersey is for Shart bodies, not Fred bodies.

No offense.

I think it would still be fine on a person of a more average build but yes, not for beanpoles

I would probably live in one if I got one. Maybe if they go on sale.
