Tarck - FBM - Endpoint meetup summer 2016

FBM is having their official open house at the new factory in Ithaca July 16th. Andy and I will be there to represent Endpoint, ride bikes, and chill with the FBM bros.

I propose some sort of Tarck meetup that involves riding bikes, eating pizza, and possibly camping.

Oh dang! I'd ride down from Rochester for this.

I'll try to make it. CG crew meetup!

If I can go I have wagon with 3 bike trays on top.

If someone on here did it, I'd probably like it. Since it was done by someone I don't know, they're a fucking idiot.

It would be neat to combine a visit with my family that lives 30 miles south of Ithaca.
TC: kinda scared of upstate NY heat/humidity in July because so many sweaty memories from years of living in Ithaca.
Many summer days I would walk directly from work in the Commons to nearby gorge, swim/cliff jump until it cooled off then walk home and lay under window air conditioner until I fell asleep. It's weird to live in Seattle where you actually have energy to ride a bike in the summer.
It's darn pretty out there and I've never actually taken a bike out of the flat Ithaca valley.
Looking at bike routes that run parallel to Route 13 right now....

Hellllll yes. Western NY Tarckup is go.

Did the Rochester-Ithaca ride this past weekend and really enjoyed it, would totally ride down with my pukebacking gear again.

My formative bike years were spent riding a fixie around Orlando, FL, so I'm used to it! Just happy to live somewhere with other seasons at this point, heh.

Bros and I did a Catharine Valley weekender that started in Watkins Glen, went south to Pine Valley-ish, then back up and across to Texas Hollow State Forest which has some extremely good wild camping. I would also be down to ride out to Conneticut Hill from Ithaca, or up to FLNF. Some really good routes criss-crossing that whole region!

Canal path to Newark > down to Geneva > hit 1-2 wineries on the way into Samson State Park on car-free access roads > up the hill to Ovid for a brewery/distillery stop > descended into Ithaca on 96 then 89! It was a fucking decadent ride.

Tentative plan on my end is this because family obligations and whatnot...

Friday roll out of Richmond with the goal of hitting Ithaca late evening. Set up camp, chill, pass out.
Saturday... spend time at open house (not sure what the time frame is) Then go ride for a few hours. Route tbd. I have some people up that way I'll get some advice from.
Saturday night... eat pizza in town then hopefully ride from pizza place to camp. There are several places around the greater Ithaca area, but lots of spots are mostly booked so I'll have to do something on this end asap.
Sunday morning... breakfast... short ride... drive home.

Update...

Book camping here... http://newyorkstateparks.reserveamerica.com/campsiteSearch.do

It's the closest place with sites left. 18 miles from the factory 1.5 hour by bike.

Looks like they have at least 10 sites. Sites camp up to 6 people. I'll likely have room for 2 additional people in my site.

I'm booking a site on Loop C fyi so try and book there too.

I booked a spot on Loop C at Fillmore Glen State Park, hopefully that's where you meant...

2 cars and 6 people per site so I'll have room too.
