Look... someone (me) just set up a Shopify/PayPal/printful. We don’t even need a bank account. Once it’s up and running it’s pretty much on auto pilot.

As long as the store can sell 5 or so shirts a month it pretty much pays for itself.

On the off chance it makes money I can think of plenty of non profits to donate revenue to.

Do it.

Email me at halbritt at gmail dot com and we'll work through this.

Actually, NM, I just put it here, along with the pink/camo/bear hat I produced:

So I did this. Any gamers here? Have to fix some decal locations.

If someone on here did it, I'd probably like it. Since it was done by someone I don't know, they're a fucking idiot.

Holy shit! Losing my camo hat is one of my greatest regrets in life. If there was a round 2...

from my experience with the hats and stickers if there is a simple payment page you jerks will buy tons of almost anything.
I sold out of stickers in a day or two. and the hats went pretty quick too.

Also if anyone still wants a hat I found ~3 when I moved. PM me.

I still have a bunch of stickers but mailing them is a PITA because they need to be shipped as parcels, so I can't put them in a regular envelope with a regular stamp

If it helps the cause I will update the design to include a subtle Tarck logo.

Otherwise if no logo needed I am still happy to send the design to whoever needs it to add to a glorious commerce site.

Someone confirm which option and I'll get on it.

I say add a teeny tiny tasteful logo and help further the merch cause.

Which hats? Not the digicamo tarckbear ones, right? I broke mine and want a replacement :(

So, Braden is putting together a storefront. We'll need a way to manage emails and whatnot for paypal. Don't want to fuck with any difficult service, so Imma use g-suite which drives up the hosting cost by $5/mo per email user (we need one or three).

I can handle the paypal and the accounting and use the proceeds to pay for that and the hosting costs which are ~$50/mo presently. Or I can just pay that and y'all can come up with an alternative approach to the accounting, maybe by electing a responsible grownup to do it or some such.

Please discuss.

I'm a bit of a benevolent dictator around here and I'm not necessarily keen to expand my purview plus money makes things weird. That said, path of least resistance is probably me doing it. I'm open to (easy) alternatives.

Do you still have free tier access on AWS? We could do WordPress/WooCommerce instead of Shopify. That combo supports Paypal and Printful.

Otherwise I have some unused free gears on OpenShift. The only catch there is that if they are idle for 24 hours they are hibernated so there's a little lag when they get woken back up.

Naturally, this bike is partially tarck's fault.

Ain't trying to do things free tier. Nobody has time for that. Presently, there's a server running drupal and a mysql RDS instance. Free tier will net a t1.micro of each. All of the issues we were having earlier in the year were the result of exhausting CPU credits on the RDS instance.

In terms of tech work to be done, we're kinda stuck on an old ass version of PHP because of a bbcode plugin that became stale. Migrating from it would break lots of links and formatting. One will need to go through the post history and reformat to HTML or some such.

Beyond that, move to drupal 8, or port to something else I can containerize and maybe run in a kubernetes cluster. Start consuming GKE with the free $300 they give folks.

We talking $20-25 for t-shirts? I'll buy one. Kind of jonesing for a long-sleeve T as well. I don't wear cycling caps, but I do wear baseball ones and winter hats with a pom-pom on top. I'm a sucker for soft goods.

I'm out of my league helping beyond that.

If someone on here did it, I'd probably like it. Since it was done by someone I don't know, they're a fucking idiot.

Using big cartel. Cheapest for what we are trying to do.

I sent Heath the info to get the store front pointed to the right URL and said go for the Gsuite.

One thing we COULD do is pass around the collection hat again to raise some of the monthly overhead costs and knock out the first 6months to a year.

Or not.

As far as shirts go we can pretty much do anything. There are SOME limits to what will print properly as well as how cost effective some things are. But to keep it simple and get things moving I'll start out most designs as black on "dark heather". From there we can look at other colors.

Short sleeve and long is fine.

I wonder how it would go if we just had an anonymous way to toss in a few bucks every now and then. Probably more trouble than it's worth?

Maybe not.

There can easily be “products” that are donation. Only Heath and I would have to know.

Y'all don't worry about the monthly overhead costs too much. If it's convenient to get 'em covered, great. If it's not, no worries.

Store is in process. Heath took care of DNS stuff.

Start sending me your designs, requests for colors/styles etc.

After the new year and I actually get some Endpoint frames shipped I’ll start to dig into this.

Oh... and someone whip up a logo for the store. Or send me the tarck logo. Whatever.
