doubt it, I haven't been here long and am just starting to get around town. Moved from Columbus OH right in time for winter which put a pretty big damper on my voluntary fun bike (and non-bike) activities.

though if any of you raced cx in Madison late last fall, I probably gave you a beer handup.

Holy fuck

Quote:
Hi there,
I am looking to purchase a new fork for my 49cm pake rum runner. I am currently on Pake's straight fork (383mm). I noticed your straight-blade lugged fork ($68 1-1/8) has 365mm axel to crown length. According to those measurements, your fork will lower the front end by about 18mm. Is that right? My goal is to drop the front end as much as possible to minimize the top tube slope. Any thoughts or recommendations?
Thanks.

Although, I do have to admire him managing to build a business on being a knowledgeable resource for the one class of bikes that you could literally learn everything there is to know about them in about 30 minutes. Pretty sure he could automate his question and answer service with a chatbot tbh

"If the chain is too worn you may have to replace your chainring and cog"

"You will need a square taper bottom bracket for your square taper cranks"

"The wheel with the cog on it goes in the back. If you accidentally flip the wheel position you will know you've done so because it will be difficult to get the rear wheel into the fork"

"Both are good frames, try and get a test ride at a local shop and see which you like the best"

"The tube goes inside the tire. If you're installing the tube on the outside of the tire it may explain why you've been getting flats"

"Nitto makes my favorite set, they're a little more expensive but definitely worth it"

"With your feet on the pedals, you should find the handlebars in front of you. If they are behind you, you'll need to get off the bike and put your feet on the opposite pedals from the ones you were just on"

lol, what's actually pretty awesome is that the 49cm Pake already has a 75.3 Seat Tube Angle stock, and the idiotic shorter fork scenario will bring it to a 76.3 STA and 74.5 HA.

For a second I wanted to suggest tarck revive their bf accounts to troll with obviously idiotic questions like will a 1" soma fork fit on my cinelli mash histogram or what does 27.2 or 31.6 mean when talking about a seat post but I don't think questions could actually get any dumber.

Hey dudes. I posted back in the split-from-bikeforums days and had a "gotta sell all my bikes to live" type crisis, but I'm back at it now. I like how the general attitude of this place has changed. Everybody seems pretty far past fixiebro posturing.

Got this not too long ago from a dude who raced it for a couple seasons. It's a gary fisher branded poprad, and I love it. I just have to make it into a proper yolobike (nice tires, real front gears, mini-vs, gotta ditch the tubeless-converted wagon wheels and get some proper wide section rims). Plus I gotta fix some fit issues.

Don't haze me too hard. Hopefully my dumb bike won't shut the new thread down.

Long-time lurker, but chatting with Fred last week convinced me to make an account.
I have no excuse for that uncut steerer tube other than being too lazy to fix it. Foundry's (aka QBP) crabon is heavy, I won't argue that. But at least I got the frame for free (raffle prize).

gently caressing the cable housing, yes. surprisingly, it's been a non-issue when actually riding.
the Revelate front bag comes with some foam spacers to offset it and prevent the bag from applying the brakes.

it's an okay solution to a problem that shouldn't have ever existed in the first place.

Nah it's a presidio. Same thing as far as I can tell though—OX Plat, MUSA, identical geo. I like the fork that's on it, too, but it would be nice to have something with fender mounts. Don't wanna half-ass something with zip ties.
