Oh good, another new fatbike.

The market is surely clamoring for this.

Sounds rad as fuck.

Short rear, neutral front end, low standover, dorper routing.

I could see this being a contender if I end up getting a ham for northern Michigan winter riding.

was hoping they were just pinch bolts for the rear thru axle, but ad copy and pictures seem to support some sort of thru axle track fork fuckery.

I don't think anyone here understands how much restraint I show in my daily life in the land of Q brands.

Holy shit ANOTHER Surly fatbike? QBP should just launch their own HamBrand at this point.

I have a friend who bought an ICT last year and rides the fuck out of it as a single speed. After going through multiple SS variations of their modular dropout system, he cannot get any of them to hold on under hard braking. Isn't it a general Surly rule that if SS is possible, SS will work? Sad.

That's the thing, they already fucking do.

Someone want to count up the number of fat bikes models produced by Maxway for Q? It's gotta be something absurd.

Wow. Totally forgot about Cogburn. Didn't know they were a QBP brand, though I should have expected as much.

Not gonna lie, this is pretty relevant to my interests:

Wednesday is the first Surly ham I would consider purchasing.

Bikes suck. Don't ride one.

Quote:
Rather than using a standard thru axle frame, the Wednesday uses a 177mm wide dropout with track ends for single speed use. Using the custom 12mm thru axle that threads together, the frame provides most of the advantages of standard thru axles but with the ability to adjust the CS length from 435-455mm. Surly will make the axle available separately in the future and it will make the frame compatible with all 177mm hubs. The frame is also compatible with 170mm x 10 QR hubs with Surly adapters. The dropouts include horizontal stands that allow 177mm TA hubs to be installed vertically while the 170x10mm hubs can be removed horizontally. The best part is that all of the options are provided in a one piece cast dropout. LINK

Was looking at the Wednesday specs/geo and noticed they mention that the derpy track ends can do vertical exit when using the thru axle. That's probably a duh thing but TC I'm a little less opposed to it now (though I'm not buying a new hambiek until they come up with a 210mm hub standard or I move back to someplace with snow lol)

Guys, I keep thinking about that Wednesday.

The geometry is pretty similar to the Kona Unit, which I was previously considering.

I know the Q would be wide, but I keep thinking about building one from a frameset as a 29er. Then buying some nice, light fatbike wheels later on for hamming.

I have really been enjoying my fat bike with a set of 29+ wheels. Running Super Motos around town is a blast, but if I want to roll over stuff I still have the fat wheels. The Q is obnoxious sometimes but as an already wide guy I can't say it bothers me too much. I say go for it!

I ride my Muk with the 29+ wheels more often than fat ones. I'm sure a Wednesday would clear those too. 27.5+ would be even better.

@shart/that, I'd probably do 2.4r/2.75f (Dirt Wizard) on Blunt 35 rimz (I already have 'em).

27.5+ would be cool too, but I don't think I need that much tire for general trail riding. Plus, I don't already have any 27.5 tires/rims.

Is it safe to assume that the Q is increased by whatever the BB shell width is, compared to a normal BB?

The Wednesday has a 100mm BB - 73mm normal = 27. 27 / 2 = 13.5mm each side?

Did any Shopbros take advantage of the 35-40% Surly was offering these past two weeks? A bunch of my Ham Curious friends bought them stupid cheap. I do not want, nor can I justify, such a purchase.

My mid-ham with the 3.0s is giving me most of it. Especially since it's like 55* out.
