Selling Campy group.

Sold Campy hubs.

Buying 5700 silver group directly through Shimano.

If you're running 10sp you can get a chain and cassette for under $100 new from ribble, or do what I do and snatch up lightly used 10s chorus cassettes when I see them. Veloce chains are ~$30 and last longer than any shimano chain too. 5700 is nice though and wear items are really really chap, but the group as a whole is heavier than any campy group.

Dude, I've got a Chorus cassette that I've been trying to sell on eBay for $30 for a month now. 10 speed Campagnolo shit isn't worth anything. Also, Shimano and SRAM chains work perfectly well with Campy. They wear faster, but if you've got a cheap source, it's not a bad way to go.

Also, 5700 blows and is definitely a downgrade. I would support this if you were moving to 6800.

I think I'll just pick up a last year's Scott Aspect with Shimano hydros for stupid cheap and put an ebay carbon fork on it and call it a day. might powdercoat it too for shits and giggles.

cheap Spark, and throw the Fox off my Scale on it and throw a Salsa steel fork and one of those seatclamps with the threaded attachments on the Scale and then I'll have a FS and a kid hauler and I'll be straight.

Sell Cannondale frameset, sugino 75s, some tires, some cranks, and pedals
Build daily wheelset for endpoint: some centerlock hubs to belgium plus rims
Build race wheelset for endpoint: centerlock hubs to belgium tubular rims
Build up endpoint with the 6800 group I already have plus either CX77, Spyre, or HY RD brakes.
Buy 6870 RD and sell off 6770 RD on the bmc, flash firmware and go to 11!
If funds left over, buy race wheels.
Come March, pick up an AR FRD frameset and remaining parts for full 6870 group which transfers to Felt, install 6800 group from endpoint onto bmc and sell complete, buy r785 shifters and brakes for endpoint and use remaining 6770 infrastructure plus sell off excess di2 parts.
Replace triple crankset on the highball with a 29er friendly dubble.
Ride off into the sunset.

In my mind that would put me at bicycle end game, no real need for anything more (barring some cool new mtb shoes and balleur tubeless xc wheels). Then I can just ride my bikes and be happy with rad bikes for the next 5 years until they come out with laser-activated shifting.

much dithering after totaling the charge juicer i had. i have a giant tcx that's got a tapered head tube, but 1 1/8 - 1 1/4. i managed to find a new caadx fork that fit and was supposed to race it this past season but never finished/raced it because i got sick multiple times and too lazy. its 1x10 apex but throws the chain all the time. i could swap my force/rival drivetrain from the charge onto it and deal with riding it on the road, but its kind of my red headed step child. i don't want to put much effort into it (have to get a FD, cables, etc) and not sure i want to do cross anymore. but also not sure i want to go through the hassle of selling and taking a bath on it.

ive been scoping cheap road bikes since i'm impatient and don't have a lot of cash on hand. theres a raleigh clubman frameset for 250 on CL right now, or there's always the honky tonk. really just want a sweet alu race frame for summer radness and save fender worries for winter, but can't afford one yet.

maybe should sell cross bike after all?

soma grand rando: get it all set up with lowriders and panniers for summer bike packing adventures; also oregon outback

mtb: try to find a new squish fork and maybe think about updating drivetrain to 2x10. ride more mtb in the fall bro.

track: nothing

new projects: maybe a sweet steel DT shifter bike, dat'd be coo

racing: think about thinking about racing cross*

My GT has a 700c LHT fork that I reraked for low trail; a bmx caliper just barely reaches to the (650b) rim. So a 26" rim might just work for you(tm) with either a medium reach caliper or some longish V-brakes.

I've been without a cross bike or an offroad adventure machine (what the fuck ever you want to call it), so I was considering a Specialized AWOL Comp (the nicer 725 one), but holy crap the geometry in the small version is whack as fuck. Make it plainly obvious that, for this specific purpose, I am much more well suited by a 650b bike.

So I emailed Rawland and asked if there were plans to make any more small Stags, and there are. But Rawland bro can not and will not stop asking me about my fucking standover height, which I don't know because I don't have a Rivendell, but I'm guessing he's got a medium sitting around that he really wants to push off. I'm like 5'5" with insoles in my shoes, first thing in the morning, and there's no way I'm riding a medium, but homeboy will NOT drop the standover questions.

Still want a small Stag. Don't some of you nerds have them? Truth is, I'm probably just as well off riding my old Trek MTB with 26" wheels.

Seattle Bike Swap: Sell more than I buy and come out even or maybe money ahead. Ha!
SUCCESS!

Main goal is 4 well-built usable bikes with minimal overlap:
1. Novara Randonee: 700x42c fendered low-trail mini-porteur disc camping dyno yolobiek
Convert to yolobiek. This means finish the install of low-trail raked crosscheck fork, then have disc tabs added to frame/fork, also fork bosses to fit homebuilt mini-porteur rack I made several years ago. I have a dorky paint theme in mind for this bike.
PUSH- Disc tabs installed, rack mounted, build in progress (paint will have to wait a while).

2. Raleigh International: 700x32c dyno fendered low-trail zoomy randobike
Has been raked to low-trail, now needs to be built up so I can decide where to add braze-ons (OEM was clamp-on erreything almost). Will need paint or powder.
FAIL -Sold, never finished build.

3. Bridgestone MB-2: 26xfatty dyno fendered flat bar front racked towniemuter
Finish building into flat-bar commutermobile. Have all parts for this, just lacking time.
SUCCESS!

4. Zion 737: 29er hardtail
Replace pads and bleed brakes. Convert to tubeless. Ride more.
PUSH -still on brakes that badly need pads replaced. Still running tubes. But have been riding it.

These bikes should be sold, but will likely end up keeping at least one of them:
Miyata Valley Runner: Commute on this, then sell whole or parted out once yolobiek above is completed (too much overlap to justify owning both).
SUCCESS! -Sold frame to random dude, sold lotsa parts to Yummygooey

Novara Randonee: Keep as loaner/mutt/barbiek. Not much value in the parts so no worth selling, and nice to keep around as backup.
SUCCESS!- sold to a buddy who had a bike stolen -backup destiny fulfilled to the fullest, this bike lives on!

Trek 400: Won bare frameset in bike club white elephant. Extraordinarily tempting to build to cheapo SS, but in reality I should sell it.
SUCCESS! sold at bikeswap

Mystery S&S coupled frame: Bought for the couplers, should sell it as it's clear I'll probably never get around to wanting to travel with one of my bikes nor having these couplers removed then added to a frame I like.
SUCCESS! sold it.

Doing pretty good so far. And I have a Trek frameset on the way that replaces the never-built Raleigh International.
