Cool, thanks. I hadn't even thought about the need for articulation. Once I ran into that issue I'm sure my fix would have been piano hinge.

My first car was an '86 Electra Estate. I wish is was this cool. Miss that car.

If someone on here did it, I'd probably like it. Since it was done by someone I don't know, they're a fucking idiot.

Just remembered. You could fit a 4X8 sheet of plywood in the back of them. Didn't even go in on an angle. Fit in between the wheel wells.

my dad had a peugeot 505 wagon growing up, a 4x8 fit in the back with the rear seat folded down and the gate closed. remember coming home from many a homedepot trips sitting on top of plywood and whatever else was on the project list that weekend.

I've got a dream about integrated roof rackery, where the mounts roll into an upright position like James Bond license plates. Roll them back over for smooth roof when no bikes.

do you think they put the hybrids up there instead of real bikes in-case they got destroyed? I would not want my spencer to be exposed to that much wind, I can imagine getting mine back down with every cable frayed and the tape coming off and everything that could rattle loose having rattled loose.

How fast are those coffee grinders? 150 mph? I don't think there would be damage to the bikes apart from maybe paint chipped off by cables or some such. Mileage would be severely affected I think, as would takeoff ability with full load.

It was probably designated as a flatbed for a reason, and then repurposed by a second buyer.

What's the Swedish word for 'overkill'?

Viggen

Hmm a direct translation would be "övermord" which is roughly "over-murder".
There isn't really a word or expression that involves the kill-part naturally.
"Överdrivet" would be my go to which is "over the top" or "to much".
