Long before the current UK shipping situation, I got an order from CRC in like... five, six days.

Been waiting on ribble since I placed my order on Jan 24th. Kinda need it now that I blew through that tubular on sunday.

I'm still waiting on something from the first week of december...which sucks cuz I thought it would take the usual 5-10 days.

This is good to know since I've been waiting around 4+ weeks for an order I placed on PBK.

Likewise, placed an order on a saddle from Wiggle Jan. 3rd, still waiting and they offered a refund since it's probably 'lost in post' at this point.

Ordered from PBK Jan. 12th, still waiting on that.

Another order dispatched from Ribble Feb. 1st, same deal.

As you can see I'm addicted to cheap UK mail order...

FYI I bought a wheelset from a dude in Switzerland in early December. Took 6-7 weeks to show up. Said it was in "international dispatch" the whole time, then suddenly arrived one day.

My order was shipped on 12/31 from PBK. Still nothing, have been going back and forth with customer service. Does not look promising.

^ It's probably en route on a ship somewhere. The guy who shipped my wheels talked to his post office at one point and they told him everything was fine. Your order probably isn't lost, there just isn't anything PBK can do to speed it up or even locate it.

$93 shipped campy tubular wheelset. formula hubs to vista cruisers. not sure if they're 11 speed compatible, or if they're sealed bearing hubs. i snatched a set, figure, for the money whatever. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-CAMPAGNOLO-TUBULAR-ROAD-BIKE-WHEELS-WHEELSET-700-/200539894883?pt=Cycling_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2eb11bf463#ht_2743wt_905

They're a cheap-ish J&B thing that they were selling as cross wheels this fall. I got a set of the Shimanos (identical except for the freehub) for a customer and they were certainly reasonable and I haven't heard her complain. The price is crazy cheap, I think the wholesale was like $85. That eBay price is also shockingly low, and I'd probably pick that up if, were I in the market.

As with any wheels purchased online, especially ones from JBI, tension and true them yourself, and it can't hurt to drop some Loctite down the nipples.

Following up on Tarckee's scoop on Iro closeouts, they now have their 'new' (very nice) formula hubs for $20, and their branded rims (which I remember as being made by Kinlin?) for $15.
http://www.irocycle.com/wheelshubsandrims.aspx

I just built up some of these wheels, thanks for the tip!

Mini review:

Hubs are decent. Formulas with Phil bearings, apparently, and anodized in a few colors. I asked for a rear spaced to 120mm - which it was - but the axle is long enough for a 130mm hub and sticks out awkwardly on each side. The front hub has some small gouges on one of the flanges, nothing that would cause a failure but they're a bit obvious since the hub is blue ano'd. Also instead of cutouts you get IRO logos, which makes the hubs slightly heavier and slightly uglier. BUT for $20 apiece it's still a great deal.

Rims are kind of the same thing. Great deal, cool ano'd colors, but wouldn't pay full price. I had to go around each rim with a tiny screwdriver and scrape away excess metal scraps from each nipple hole. The rims are also not a consistent depth. When totally true and round, the spoke bed wavers and the spokes vary in tension. So it comes down to outer roundness vs. spoke tension. Then again, some people adjust for roundness after installing and inflating a tire, especially with tubulars, which of course results in varied tension unless the tires are somehow perfect. But still, good quality rims (Mavic, H Plus, Velocity) have a much greater degree of precision than these and result in a more perfect wheel.
