did the steerer just completely escape the headtube?

It's a struggle, but you cut out his tongue, and his last words are "atmo atmo Atmo ATMO ATMOOOOOGORIHGGHRSHGGRLMGGMMGMgrrglegurglegrr....."

JB Weld good enough to fix this?:

I'm propping it up in the pic, it actually lies flat and aligned but rattles like crazy.

Broke it riding with like a 10-15lb load, probably a combo of tight straps and bunnyhopping speed bumps at 20mph

Remove rails from both sides. More aero.

Or, I think I've got some Aluminox at home. I used to use it at an aluminum canoe rental outfit to repair broken/missing rivets, etc. Once it sets up you can shape drill/tap whatever. Not sure if it's really that different from JB weld.

almost 6 months out from surgery for my torn acl i acquired while studying abroad in spain. got to practice spanish in a hospital where nobody spoke english then spent 3 weeks on crutches,
borrowed my amigos bmx to get my bike fix while i was skating at the local park, was gunning it to a flyout on this bowl at the local skatepark, slipped off the plastic pedals, jammed/twisted my knee, it was at grapefruit status within a minute or two, no walking for a while.
i'm public transit free for a week now, rode ~45 miles, and it feels great, first day after a lot of activity that its barely more swollen than the other

Snapped the head right off a bolt when swapping cleats over to new set of shoes

Luckily the rest of the bolt came back out pretty easily. Now I have the joy of finding some M5 bolts that are wide but low profile. Normal button heads could work with washers, but fukka 3mm allen wrench. Maybe use disk brake rotor bolts?

Are replacement cleat bolts not to be had? That's odd. I bet SIDI sells them in sets of three and somebody has two sitting around in their parts bin.

I got ya covered if you're OK with used bolts.

Well, I'm glad I noticed the crack before this happened while I was riding.

I busted it apart intentionally so I could see how the leg was bonded to the crown.

yikes rusty. you got something to replace it with?

whenever i am going fast on the road bike and look down and see the fork blades flexing to eat up road bumps, part of me cringes in anticipation of a mouthful of pavement.

kinesis has a pretty good track record with their bonded alu crown carbon forks, right? i hope so because not only is it what i currently have, it also happens to be the only affordable carbon 1" threadless fork i can find AKA directly in the middle of my upgrade path.

that fork had to have been damaged in shipping or somewhere along the way. i refuse to believe that can occur JRA.

Rusty Piton

It was shipped without a block between the tips so there's that.
There's also some scuffing on the blade there the crack was.
Something definitely happened to that fork.
The seller made it right.

Whatever. That happened two years ago. I took all the shifter bits out and now I use the brake levers on my Trek with barcons.
All is well.
Also, I did bend it back and continue to use it but it never shifted right again.(not that first gen Rival front shifting ever shifted right ^in the first place)
