I got a front and rear set of Low flange Campagnolo Nuovo Tipo freewheel hubs with skewers and a rear Miche Competition freewheel hub last week. Price was free! I sometimes love working in a bike shop when I get someones "worn out old parts" for free. They are laced to 700c rims, but the rims are toast on all of them. I have a pair of 700c Sun M13 rims and some DT Swiss spokes coming to rebuild the Nuovo Tipo's.

The other score is still under construction. I got a 77' Schwinn Volare for $200 from a friend of a friend. If no one knows the Volare was second from the top and only made in 77' and 78'. A Paramount of course being the top of the line at the time with Campagnolo components. The Volare was still Reynolds 531 frameset, but with Shimano dropouts and a full Dura Ace drivetrain. It was made in Japan so it is often called the Japanese Paramount. Best thing was the bike and the friend were in Arizona and it was driven back to Michigan for me for free. Hell, I actually haven't even paid for it yet completely. The stock stem and bars are miniature (80mm stem and 39cm bars for a 63cm frame) so it will get a 120 Nitto Technomic and Nitto Noodles. I have the stem and the bars arrive on Monday with the rest of the shop's QBP order. I will post up a pick of it all finished.

just picked up a brand new Force front brake for 30. not a super deal, but i have a bad habit of buying complete brakes instead of just getting new pads... anyway, my track bike will be happy to have an upgrade from its current alhombra or whatever random front brake.

i love cyclists and i love craigslist. i made a wtb/wtt post on craigslist and in return got in touch with the best dude ever. i traded him some almost new gatorskins for some badass, almost new odyssey platform pedals and 5 mtb tires, three of those in almost new condition. every time i do a wtt/wtb ad on craigslist i always have the best results. helll yes.

WTB ads for me have worked very well in the past. Both of the PX10's I picked up from page 1 were answers to a WTB Road bikes ad. I have also in the past purchased an 84' Fuji Track bike, Miyata Alumitech with Super Record and C Records parts that came with another frame and a spare set of wheels, and a couple of lower end road bikes that I flipped.

Seller has sent me a ton of additional photos. Still trying to determine what tubeset it is built with (waiting for response from Slawta).

Also, great deal at opening price, so-so at BIN. I got my last Land Shark for $400, and it was absolutely mint fully fillet-brazed Dedacciai Less-Than Zero with a painted-to-match Reynolds Ouzo Pro & King headset. This one is unknown tubing (so far) with cheap fork and nicked up paint.

Ended up getting it for ~240.
Hasn't arrived yet, so seller's pic

Had my bike swap today. It was pretty rad. Next year it will be outside though!

Some scores:

Chorus 10 speed hubs laced to Open Pros in awesome shape - 75.00

Vintage Sidis (like 40's vintage) in my size - 15.00

Concor Superleggera - FREE

Chorus Cassette - 35.00

Word.

And I made some money from the swap.

It's no Landshark, but I got a free early-80s Nishiki International today. My uncle's had it for two decades and was going to give it to Salvation Army if I didn't want it. So-so tubing, but pretty good components. Suntour Cyclone derailleurs and suntour power shift downtube shifters. 27" mavic rims to shimano hubs. Sugino super maxy crankset. Tons of clearance for big tires.

It's 60cm square, wayyyy too big for me. I'm going to try and rebuild the thing for $50 and list it on craigslist for $250. Shouldn't be too bad to rebuild. BB spins smooth, probably just needs some new grease. Headset is terribbbbllleeee though. Barely spins at all. Also I don't have a damn headset lockring tool so I can't take it off and see if it's salvageable.
