look for a used garmin 800. I got mine for $50. Obviously that's a rare deal but they're commonly found for $100-150. Totally worth it.

i actually use an edge 1000 a lot. it is very stable. haven't really ever had it crash or fuck anything up. the battery life isn't great, but it's acceptable if you keep the backlight completely turned off. the base maps are pretty damn good too and even have a lot of trails on them.

of all the current gen garmins, it's actually pretty solid since it's been out a couple years now and firmware has gotten very stable.
battery life may be an issue with touring, but i think you can charge it while you're riding?

does anyone have a fancy 26" XC disc brake wheelset lying around?

what are the fanciest 24 spoke weenie system wheels I could cop for cheaper than building something myself?

WTB a not overpriced functioning point and shoot 35mm camera, one of those Olympus ones that people swoon over would be great. I've been looking for a while and haven't come up with anything at my usual junk shops and I'm going to Edinburgh and London in 2 weeks and fancied something than I phone pics for a change.

I spent $500 on a contax t2 and that was a deal. The t3's regularly go for $1200-1500.

just sweeter custom or smaller batch singlespeeds from that 98~03 heyday

the only oddball I can think of is those Kleins with short rear-facing dropouts

I appreciate it, but I managed to get an online shop I was already buying all the other bits from to throw them in after I'd already ordered my lot.

I think I paid $10.

The main catch was that shipping from anywhere was more than the item itself.

I think I have all all the little bits now.

Does anyone have some sort of bikepacking handlebar roll/harness/drybag thing? Trying to get ladybiek's Krampus camping-approved, and this front rack business is not OK.

I've got a roll but you will need to supply your dry bag. I made a molle "pad" that I attach to the handlebars with some pvc tubing and straps. The pad wraps 3/4 around the drybag/sleepingbag and it's fine. Not great but fine. I'd ship it to you to borrow for a while???
