WTB: dirt cheap SS disc 29er frame.Medium or small would work. Condition doesn't matter as long as there's no cracks and the thing is straight.

Long shot... I'm looking for the Hunter Smooth Move Low Rise and the Fairweather For Shred handlebars, both in black.

JUGE FREDD
JUGE FREDD's picture

Those are two very different Internet Handlebars

The Fairweather is a Nitto version of the totally standard shape, the Hunter has a novel backsweep for a riser bar. Both are heavier than aluminum World Cup DH bars at the same price, and ~100g heavier than XC/Enduro bars.

Are you after that "piano black" look? Get carbon, it makes a fuckload of sense for modern MTB handlebars.

They're for two different bikes. One to bring the sw8 fixxie back to life, and one for the Ritchey MTB. I don't want carbon on the fixxie. What carbon handlebars would you suggest I look into for the Ritchey? I'm actually not unhappy with what I have now (Ritchey 10D, alloy) but I feel like trying something new.

I'd move the Ritchey 10d bars to the fixie, I've got the same ones on my cycletruck where they're pretty ideal with a long stem

for your MTB find a standard low riser bar around 70-74cm wide if you haven't tried that yet

Chromag, Raceface, Syntace and Renthal all have top end carbon but I'm sure there are other great ones, go for an XC model

Yea, I was thinking about just moving the 10Ds to the fixie. That one's more of a back burner project but it would be cool to get a new setup on the Ritchey to try out.

Speaking of back burner projects, any one sitting on a set of Ritchey Neo Classics in black/42cm?

I find it endlessly hilarious that fixie bros moved from 20mm bars to 700mm bars, in the span of like a year.

I want nothing more than to see a 2017 fixie bro stuck in traffic because his Race Face bars can't squeeze between a bus and a taxi.

Front racks with some platform that mount to dropouts and lowrider bosses:
Blackburn MTF-1 (pretty sure there is also a MEC version of this).
Surly 8-pack, 24 pack.
Minoura MT-4000SF
Jandd extreme front rack.
Old Man Mountain Pioneer
Surly Nice front rack.
Blackburn Outpost, Local, Local basket.
Nitto 34f giant front rack.
specialized Pizza Rack.
Racktime topit front rack.
Wald baskets

Other front racks that don't mount to canti bosses nor to riv-standard bosses, but also don't mount mid-blade either:
Soma and V-O porteur racks.
Soma Champs-elysees front.
Soma Lucas mini-front.
VO Constructeur front.
Blackburn vintage wrap-around behind the fork crown front rack.
Gamoh/Minora King Carrier front baskets.
Origin8 classique cargo

-edited a few times as I remembered other racks that fit

I have a set of new take off apex brifters, missing one hood i think, but they are in storage and I would have to dig them up. Also have a new take off 10s rival rear lever and s500 left lever for a 1x10 setup if that works. I have the 1x10 setup here in Chicago, the apex levers are in Wisconsin and not sure when I will be there.
