There won't be any other cycling news until this upcoming Saturday, April 4th. The next upcoming classics is the Ronde van Vlaanderen; also known as the Tour of Flanders.

Here's a first-hand experience from the Cervelo Test Team on their thoughts from the Tour of Flanders, 2009. Enjoy it!

Agreed. Also, When I was in belgium, I walked past a building site and a bathroom sink crashed on the ground, 3m from where I was standing. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone in the race.

RT @velonews: Reconstructive surgery places Contador’s season in doubt http://kl.am/9Oqp

My man Haussler is also out of
Flanders and Paris-Roubaix because of a knee injury. Currently undergoing 8 hours of physical therapy daily. He'll be back for the Tour.

Two of these three riders will not be starting.

Edit: I see that Cavendish has decided to ride Flanders. That's exciting.

Right. Lance rode for Hincapie in 2005. Someone on V. Salon suggested that he might be riding for Popo this year. One wonders. Like I wrote on V.Sal, once his TSS hits a certain point, he's going to sit up. Watching him do the climb at Criterium was a little silly. I realize that he's not "on form", but he was riding like he was on a rest day.

Going by the numbers he is. It may work for him. Even though I kinda like him, I hope it doesn't. If they gave a Maillot Gris in the tour, I'd rather see Jens get it.

I think I'm starting to agree with the attitude of the French. Better to lose with attitude and style than win with seemingly dispassionate calculation. I guess we'll see what happens in July.

I'd be less bothered if *anyone* on Team Lance had any kind of results this year.

Yeah. That'd be cool if Klodi was a bit harder. Buncha July cyclists on that team. Steegmans was supposed to have been the classics man coz Belgian, but he got injured. I was hoping Impey might have some success, too. Popo won Paris-Roubaix as a U23 rider, so I'll be watching to see how he does. I certainly don't have high hopes, though.

I think Garmin will be pretty interesting to watch in this. Johan Vansummeren is a pretty awesome addition to the team.

121 Julian Dean (NZl)
122 Tyler Farrar (USA)
123 Matthew Wilson (Aus)
124 Robert Hunter (RSA)
125 Martijn Maaskant (Ned)
126 David Millar (GBr)
127 Svein Tuft (Can)
128 Johan Vansummeren (Bel)

Unfortunate, sure, but he's going to have to learn to be more diplomatic when speaking to the press. It's not good form to trash your mechanics publicly, even if they did fuck up. Otherwise, I imagine he might have a lot more mechanical problems in the future. Also, in regards to Cancellara, "yeah, I guess he won...."
