For most of the week, yes. I travel a bunch for work to a rather warm place, so it's nice having a road bike there.

My “sparksflyhigh Local Bikepath Ditherer” on its maiden voyage.

Needs new tape (pink or purple?), fit stuff needs to be dialed in more, I just got cable stops in so I can fix the housing, but I might leave the full-length housing for the rest of winter. Proper pedals needed. Dynamo lights and a lunchbox are in store for tax return season. The Knards leave a little to be desired but work okay in the snow. But here’s my first low-trail bike hastily thrown together in my apartment. I’ll post an updated picture when I have time to fix everything mentioned.

Thanks sparks I love it!

It’s a frame that sparksflyhigh built loosely based on the NFE. I call it the Local Bikepath Ditherer.

I got a DJ off a guy leaving town. It's probably the nicest paint job I've seen on a P2.

The nice thing is the kiddo can ride it for the most part.

Yeah, there was a lot of wtf going on with the drivetrain. It had a mixed 3/32 and 1/8 setup. I see why he had the tensioners on there. The paint doesn't let the axle nuts bite very well.

After I took it out for a good session, I made some changes with some leftovers from my sw8 single speed days. The chain is droopy because the rotor was sitting too high in the caliper. I added a spacer, but it got dark by then.

I really want to get in on this dj trend. I have since before tarck even. Nowhere to ride one around here, except maybe the skatepark? I feel weird riding a bike at the skatepark. Especially when I have a helmet on.

this is a sad, sad, state of affairs, viggen. should be remedied.

I think it's absolutely possible to own a DJ and still ride safely/cautiously. Like any cycling activity, accidents are bound to happen, but when you are not young/dumb and jumping into taking risks, it's not that bad. I've progressed super slowly (relative to time spent practicing, not overall time, since i just started a couple months ago..) and I don't move on to the next bigger thing until i'm 100% sure it's going to be OK. Still avoid all sorts of things I likely could ride because the comfort level is not there. If i am not confident I can make it, I won't do it. Tarck is about growing up these days..

That being said, dirt jumping is probably the best possible way to feel like a kid on the bike and is an addicting level of fun..

I thought the DJ was finally done, so i took a photo then remembered i bought new grips i never put on, and also so dusty.

also i had to put a power meter on it so that i could do software testing on my bike park days... legit excuse.
