Oh, I know. The movie is still absolutely amazing, though. Especially since it came out in '88.

I would like to state for the record that I am NOT an anime geek.

A pursuit bike is not the same thing as a TT bike. My advice is always "don't buy a pursuit bike", but I am more than comfortable building myself an old TT bike if I can find one with a long enough seat tube for cheap enough.

Rode it to school and back. I'm gonna get some dogfood, come back home, then off to work.

yea I checked my mileage after seeing Rusty's and I'm only at just over 200 miles since 09 started. I fractured my leg which slowed me down a bit and I'm sure I didn't remember to turn the phone on my app every time, but even with those two factors I'm pretty sure I would be no where near 1000 miles. Do you switch the computer to different bikes or is that just on the bike you ride the most?

Yeah, and I don't even have deep wheels. It sucked. I was pushing hard as hell against the wind, next thing I knew, big gust swirls up and I'm on the ground.

teh cromoly, I think. no stickers.

Sweet channel on the bottomside of the top tube, where the brake cable runs, I'll take some pics soon. The stem's cro-mo and has the nice hidden bolt recessed in the front. I'm thinking some different bars, maybe different shifters, and some slicks.

Not sure if I should go some kind of Albatross/ North Road type bar, or just risers. I'd like to get my hands on some Deore 7 speed thumb shifters too.

Jealous. Nobody really understands my tool fetish. I have one. It's really bad.

I lol'd, but in a sympathetic way.

I lied about my computer ticking over 500 miles. I've been on the bike a fair bit lately, I just ticked over 630 today. Rode a total of 25 miles today. I took my normal route to work but had the nifty idea of hitting the hills on the way home. That amounted to 1700' of elevation (posted the route in the map diary thread). About 2/3 of the way up, I was feelling great, dizzy, high on dopamine, and my back hurt so much I had to stop, which sucked. I had my work clothes and whatnot in a messenger bag and it was killing me. I'm not doing that again (climbing with a mess. bag). Hit 44.1mph on the descent with a helmet this time.

The UPS man brought my new carbon fork. I waved it around a bit like a light saber. It is exceedingly light. I'm stoked.

rode it to a hockey game, then rode it back from downtown. It was fun navigating through all the drunken hockey fan traffic. Some dude in a truck aggressively raced me and cut me off from merging into traffic. It was awesome- I just went around and waved back at him after he slammed on his brakes for the red light.

I also got interrogated by some 12 year old door boy for my giant mess bag. "Um... is this a backpack? Why is it so big?"
