Got my first flat of the winter last night. Couldn't find a puncture, so just pumped 'er up and rode it home. Pressure was low upon arrival, so I took the wheel inside for examination. Found a tiny piece of glass poking the tube, removed it, then examined the rest of the tire, finding little bits embedded all o'er the place. Patched tube, removed other bits, installed and all was well.

I got new handlebars for it
I traded some b123aas for rb021s. I'm cheap so it was a hard trade to make, since I spent $100 on the b123aas and I couldve bought new rb021s for less than 50. I just kept telling myself that nobody would want to buy them off of me straight up, and that it didn't matter because I was trading handlebars I didn't like for ones that I did and am actually going to ride the shit out of. Plus, the guy I traded with is pretty tight.
almost a fuckin disaster

Took a really short ride, and hit some hills.

It looked like a nice warm morning, turned out to be cold as shit(for california) and my gloveless hands were fucking burning when I got back.

Pumped the tires, rode it on the rollers for half an hour. I put drops on for 5 minutes and rode the rollers again, wussed out and switched back to risers. They're just more comfortable, I guess.

I rode my conversion to work and back this morning, feeling like shit due to a cold.
This afternoon, I rode to the post office to pick up a package of tires from PBK. Then I picked up a box of vegan cupcakes and rode to school with the bright pink box strapped to my rear rack.
In the evening, I rode home from school in unexpected snow. After dinner, I put new GP4seasons on my crosscheck and fixed my rear fender fit. I'm pretty excited to try these tires.

Rode around the periphery of the cemetery (Père Lachais) in my new neighborhood after being sick and unable to ride for a few days. Also picked up a fresh pack of Golden Virginia to celebrate almost being not sick again.

The scale of things still messes me up here; I overshot almost all of the turns I was supposed to take. So the ride was much longer than I had planned and the inclines were much steeper than I imagined; I even had to stop once. This has me reconsidering the gearing options for my touring build which will double as a city bike. Glad I had plenty of gears on this ride, but I totally forgot how shitty it is to ride without foot retention, especially going uphill.

Surprisingly, i rode the Pmount to BART with just a little bit o' pain. (I went OTB on a DJ bike on Monday night.) Got some bruised or cracked ribs, or just some strained ribcage muscles. Doing pretty much anything is painful. But i can ride in the saddle with virtually no pain. OUt of the saddle is not really an option, however -- it's agony.

Not sure how I'm gonna get back up the big hill tonight. smiley

WTH did you do Kowloon?

I'm getting ready to ride my bike to Rite Aid/Target and then probably the bar for some pool with a coworker. I just want to make sure that I leave late enough so I'm not that guy who is at the bar before noon.

That's about all I can hit on my tank-of-a-Schwinn, so don't feel bad. A couple weeks ago when I was sick and going into a massive headwind, I tried to ignore one of these signs as it taunted me with its 16 mph reading.

Sorry that my bike tried to kill you, man. FWIW, I had a similar experience last week after running headlong into a water pipe while snowboarding. Ribs were bruised, coughing and laughing hurt, that sort of thing. I found that riding the bike was relatively pain-free. I didn't try to climb any hills, though.

rode it to meet a few folks and we rode to a bar to do karaoke last night. I was bummed cause I hate karaoke and the ride was short so I then did laps in the park. Finally went in to said bar since my gf was waiting on me there. Got super drunk and walked the girl back with my bike. I also cleaned it since I accidentally left it out in the rain :(

Sounds like a fun night. I too hate karaoke, and avoid it like the plague. One difference, though- the rain seems to clean my bike just fine. Perhaps this reflects my low, low standards of cleanliness.

Hmmmm... perhaps that was my problem. I sang "Turn The Page", by Seeger, but it was appropriate 'cause I had just been on a 15 hour road trip with five women who I found quite annoying by the end. Perhaps if the song had nothing to do with anything, it'd be better.

Rode to work then rode to a few of the buildings and Kinkos and got fucking soaked and went back to the office and then went home cause I felt like shit. Then I jerked off and then I sat around for the rest of the day watching stupid movies and now I feel way better.

edit: I think I'll have a whiskey.
